A teenager has been placed on probation for a period of two years after pleading guilty to possessing and circulating counterfeit cash on 1 June 2006.

The Zebbug teenager, whose name cannot be mentioned since he was still a minor when he committed the crimes, also pleaded guilty to using the fake cash at several petrol stations and to stealing less than Lm100 worth of fuel.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli placed the youth on probation for two years.

Police Inspector Ian Abdilla prosecuted while Dr Franco Debono appeared for the accused.
