A car was the target of arsonists late on Saturday evening when it was set alight in Ghar Dalam Road in Ghaxaq.

Police sources said no one was injured as a result of the fire at 10pm, but the car was extensively damaged. Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to the site to control the blaze.

Duty magistrate Audrey Demicoli was informed about the case and appointed several court experts to assist her in the magisterial inquiry.

The police are investigating.
