The FOR.U.M. said yesterday it would not accept being left out of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development now that everyone was agreeing on the need to review the MCESD’s composition.
If this happened, it said, it would call on its members to take all measures allowed under the law to make sure they were no longer discriminated against.
The FOR.U.M., comprising eight unions, hoped that the review would lead to a just representation of the workers’ representatives. It said it had for the past two years been insisting on having a place on the council as it represented a substantial number of workers in various important sectors of the economy.
