The spate of vandalism at various valleys across Malta continued yesterday when vandals threw used oil against a rubble wall of a belvedere, a structure overlooking the breathtaking Blue Grotto.
Work to upgrade the belvedere was inaugurated in December last year following an investment of Lm500,000. Workers from the Resources and Infrastructure Ministry have already started working to remove the oil stains. Over the last days, several sites have been targeted by vandals, including the Nature Reserve in Ghadira. Even various signs and bus shelters on the way to Hagar Qim and Ghar Dalam were vandalised.
Security was heightened after one of the messages sprayed was “Hagar Qim RIP”.
The police are investigating.
