The story is about Tamino and Pamina who have to overcome several difficulties before they can be together. Pamina’s mother, the Queen of the Night, tries to use her daughter in her quest for vengeance on her arch-rival Sarastro, the Lord of Light, but to no avail. In the end, everything comes to a joyful conclusion, but not without some mischief from the other characters in the opera.
