Din l-Art Helwa deplored the “appalling acts of vandalism” that have recently occurred in three separate locations – the destructive attack on the Ghadira Nature Reserve, the attacks by vandals in the vicinity of the Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples near Qrendi – which included written warnings that worse was yet to come – and the defacing of a newly-restored rubble wall in the popular beauty spot of Wied iz-Zurrieq.

Din l-Art Helwa strongly urged the government to do all in its power to protect and secure sensitive areas such as the temples and sites of environmental importance, and to identify and bring the vandals to justice.
