The government will be financially helping young people who would like to accompany Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona, OP during his visit to Melbourne and Sydney for activities linked with World Youth Day in July 2008, which will be presided by Pope Benedict XVI.

The Education Ministry said that at this stage, in agreement with the Prime Minister, the government was offering Lm5,000 to help young men and women, including youths with a disability, to travel to Australia.

The initiative is supported by the National Youths Council and the Diocesan Youth Commission. More details are to be announced.
