A man was jailed for six months yesterday, after he was found guilty of attempting to steal from a residence and relapsing.
Joseph Cini, 42, from Pieta, was found guilty of attempting to rob a house in Santa Maria Estate, limits of Mellieha on 17 July last year.
Although he was also accused of threatening a man, being in possession of a sharp and pointed object, and driving without a licence, these charges were dropped since the court found that the prosecution did not present enough evidence to prove these accusations.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera presided over the court. Police Inspector Silvio Valletta prosecuted.
