A man was jailed for two years yesterday and a teenager was placed on probation and fined, after they were found guilty of robbing a residence in Gharghur.
Claudio Calleja, 24, and an 18-year-old boy from Naxxar, were found guilty of stealing over Lm1,000 worth of items from the residence and damaging moveable or immovable property on 26 November 2005.
The boy was placed on probation for three years and fined Lm100, after he was also found guilty of acquiring a stolen mobile phone and breaching court conditions.
The teenager’s name is not being published since he was still a minor at the time when the crime was committed.
Magistrate Anthony Vella presided over the court. Police inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted. Dr Patrick Valentino appeared for Mr Calleja and Dr Vincent Galea appeared for the teenage boy.
