New Basic IT course

Malta Independent Friday, 30 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The Employment and Training Corporation (ETC) has launched a new basic IT course, Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum (DL Curriculum), to train persons with little or no experience in using computers. It is the first step on the IT skills ladder and allows candidates to improve their employability and also be in a position to follow other IT courses, offered by the ETC or other providers.

The five-part curriculum, being given with the cooperation of Microsoft Malta, covers computer basics, how to use the Internet and productivity software, computer security and privacy, and a fifth category, entitled Digital Lifestyle, which is about the different ways people are using computers at home and in their daily lives.

Microsoft has donated Lm1,608 (E3,753) to ETC for the delivery of the course. For more information about the Microsoft Digital Literacy programme or any other course offered by the corporation, one may contact the Training Services Division at ETC at

[email protected] or by phone on 2220-1614.
