A Passion display with a difference is that put up by Joe Cordina at 3A Villambrosa Street (corner with St Joseph High Road) at Hamrun.
This display consists of statuettes showing characters of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ and set in a crib-like structure of rustic stone complete with trees and spring of running water.
The figures are organised in tableaux form showing the Last Supper, the garden of Gethsemane, the capture of Jesus, the denial of Peter, the presenting of the Ecce Homo by Pontius Pilate to the crowds, the meeting with Veronica on the way to Golgotha, the Crucifixion, the burial and the risen Christ. The figurines are made of Maltese clay and are the work of the sculptor Carmel Agius.
This display is open daily from 5.30pm to 8.30pm On Maundy Thursday it will be kept open till 10.30pm and on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday until midnight.
