Malta Independent Saturday, 31 March 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

On Wednesday, 4 April at 8.30pm, NET TV will be transmitting the final programme of L-Isfida. Four girls have made it to this much-awaited show. Sarah Vella, Talitha Dimech, Samaria Bezzina and Hollie Cassar will be competing for the final prize: a three-year scholarship at the Body Works Theatre Company in Cambridge. This scholarship is one of the largest prizes ever to be won on local television and is valued at e35,000.

The show started with 168 applicants, 95 auditions, 30 finalists and nine challengers. After 25 weeks of training, only these four girls have the chance of making their dream come true. The finalists come from different performing backgrounds: Hollie is an actress, Talitha is a singer and Sarah and Samaria are both dancers. On Wednesday, however, they will perform in all three disciplines. The judging panel will include all the teachers, led by Felix Busuttil, Chiara and Alan Montanaro. Ms Theresa Kerr, director of Body Works Theatre Company, will be the guest judge. Viewers will also be able to vote for their favorite performer through televoting and SMS.

Claudette Pace hosts and produces L-Isfida together with David Buttigieg. “We are looking forward to this programme because it crowns all our efforts and hard work. We are very satisfied with the progress shown by the students and by the wonderful response shown by our viewers. We are also expecting a huge crowd at the Cottonera Sports Complex,” said Claudette. “We could not have done this without our sponsors – a big thank you to all. This is going to be an electrifying experience for all of us.”

Anybody wishing to be part of the live audience must book on 7941-4345.
