The government’s decision to allow low-cost carriers to fly to and from Malta is already bearing fruit, as can be seen from the fact that the number of tourists coming over to Malta has started to increase as from last November.
While this is definitely good news for our tourism industry, I believe that the future of Air Malta should not be ignored. I believe the government is giving its due attention to the national airline, and rightly so too.
Malta needs Air Malta, and it would be a pity if the
company would not be able to survive in the current international circumstances. What is important is that Air Malta continues to diversify its product and offer the excellent services it has always offered.
Its recent launch of services for the summer 2007 season give a clear indication that the company is willing to go the extra mile to be able to satisfy the needs of its clients.
