Whereas school employees will have yet another holiday on 4 June, due to the much-awaited canonisation of Dun George Preca, the majority of Maltese people who have to work for much longer hours and many more days per year do not exist.
Or, if we do exist, then we are probably second class citizens after teachers, facilitators, kindergarten assistants and other school workers.
It seems that the sun, in Malta, does not rise the same for everyone!
It would also be ridiculous if the authorities cut one day from their holidays. If, on the other hand, I take one day’s leave, it means one day less from a meagre 24 days of vacation leave entitlement, which will surely be felt.
Facts are facts and the truth sometimes hurts.
