Lecture On Emvin Cremona in Gozo

Malta Independent Thursday, 5 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Heritage Malta, through its Gozo Area Office, is presenting a lecture entitled Emvin Cremona and the Rise of Modern Sensibilities in Maltese Sacred Art. The lecture will be delivered by artist Mark Sagona at the Conference Hall of the Gozo Ministry at St Francis Square, Victoria on Friday 13 April at 7pm.

The lecture is inspired by the ongoing restoration project sponsored by Bank of Valletta of the works by the eminent Maltese 20th century artist for the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary in Gozo. These works, which have been brought to light recently, were produced as full-scale models for the mosaics at Ta’ Pinu.

Mark Sagona is a visiting lecturer with the Department of History of Art at the University of Malta and a Ph.D. candidate with the department.

Admission to the lecture is free and the general public is invited to attend.
