Speaking during a seminar held by Comtec Services Limited to mark their 40th anniversary, Tourism and Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech said a birthday was always a time for rejoicing, and reaching the age of 40 was the turning point in the life of an individual.

Minister Zammit Dimech said that a company also celebrates its birthday. “Longevity marks the successes of a company and if it reaches the age of 40 it is because it is reliable and efficient and is giving a good service,” remarked Minister Zammit Dimech, who said he thought that all this applied to Comtec Services Ltd, which 40 years ago was established in Malta with the aim of offering a pest control service to the tourism industry, to manufacturing industries and to the public.

Minister Zammit Dimech said that pest control played a major role in the tourism industry. The centrepiece of hotels and restaurants was definitely the kitchen. “Kitchens have to be maintained at all times to the best hygienic standards. Hygienic standards incorporate pest control and professional pest control services have been offered by Comtec Services Ltd for the past 40 years,” added Minister Zammit Dimech.

“Gone are the times when pest control was treated amateurishly. Today pest control is treated professionally with Comtec Services Limited serving thousands of customers,“ said the minister, who further praised Comtec Services Limited for their success story and for their contribution towards making the Maltese public more conscious about pest control.

He augured that Comtec, with its purposely-designed facility at Corradino Industrial estate and with its state-of-the-art fumigation chambers, will continue to expand its activities.
