Tickets for Joseph Calleja’s 10th anniversary concert, to be held on 7 July in Mdina, have almost sold out, concert organisers Renaissance Productions Ltd said. Seats have even been booked online.

The concert has a maximum capacity of 3,000 seats.

Joseph Calleja has had a successful year since his last concert in Malta in July last year.

This year he has performed in some of the world’s greatest opera houses, such as the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City and the Vienna State Opera House.

The programme for the 7 July concert includes works by Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Cilea and Lehar.

Accompanying Joseph Calleja will be his wife Tatiana Lisnic, who has a strong following among Maltese opera lovers.

An added attraction is Maltese international conductor Brian Schembri, who will be conducting the 66-member National Opera Sofia.

The Mirabitur Choir, under the musical direction of Simone Attard, will

complete the elements of the programme.
