The 10th Tour of Malta gets under way today and will go on till Sunday when it comes to an end at The Ferries in Sliema.
Seventy five cyclists, 21 of whom Maltese, will be taking part in the event which is becoming more popular every year.
The Maltese cyclists hail from the Greens Cycling Club, Qormi Cycling Club, Mosta AF Sign Studio and two members of the Triathlon Group.
Foreign clubs taking part are those of Charlottenburg, UK Seniors, British Cycling Central Division, Ulster Cycling team, QCP, Parisi Ingoglia, Metropolitan Police Cycling Club, Anglia Sport, Isle of Man, Noord Holland, Coogee Saarmens and Ballatore.
Today's first leg will be held on the Coast Road at Bahar ic-Caghaq, starting at 10am. Tomorrow, the second leg will be the 100km race to be held on the San Martin circuit, in the limits of Mgarr.
The third lap on Saturday will be an 85 kilometre race on the Ta' Pennellu circuit, on the outskirts of Mellieha.
The event concludes on Saturday with a one-hour bike ride starting at 10.45am and finishing at around noon at The Ferries in Sliema, where the presentation ceremony will also be held.
