Qrendi and Mgarr United shared the spoils in a very balanced match dominated by the respective defences throughout the ninety minutes.
Mgarr maintained their unbeaten record. Mgarr created the early opportunities through Chris Abela.
At the other end the Mgarr custodian Debattista brought off two saves to deny Tano Farrugia and on 24 minutes Mgarr wasted a clear opportunity as David Muscat headed just wide of the near post from a Schembri free-kick.
In the 34th minute Qrendi replied with a cross by Josef Mansueto and Joe Mercieca’s first-time shot was well saved by Debattista.
Just before the break Mgarr were close through David Muscat whose shot from the edge of the penalty area finished just wide.
After the change of ends Mgarr assumed the initiative but it was Qrendi who created the first real opportunity as an attempt by Antoine Galea just missed the target.
Mgarr were then denied by Camilleri off a low shot by Malcolm Bugeja with Qrendi twice going close through Winston Fenech.
In added time Mgarr could have grabbed the three points but Johan Said’s point-blank shot was deflected by a Qrendi defender.

Ta’ Xbiex-Xghajra T 2-0
Although having to play for most of the match with ten players following the sending off of Charlie Agius, Ta’ Xbiex were still good enough to gain their second win of the season.
Xghajra came out strongly and on six minutes they were denied by the upright off an Adrian Agius volley.
Ta’ Xbiex broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with Kevin Pace crossing from the left flank and Simon Cauchi hit home from close-range.
In the 25th minute Xghajra were close through Neil Attard and on another occasion a Jonathan Cachia free-kick was saved by Mula.
In a counter-attack Ta’ Xbiex created a goal scoring opportunity through Simon Cauchi but they suffered a setback in the 45th minute when their central defender Charlie Agius was sent off for a professional foul.
On 59 minutes Xghajra were denied by Mula off an attempt by Neil Attard and two minutes Later Mula brought off another difficult save to stop a shot by Adrian Agius.
In the 65th minute Ta’ Xbiex were unlucky as Liam Vidal’s long-range free-kick bounced off the post with Xghajra replying through two efforts by Adrian Agius which just missed the target. Late in the match Xghajra’s striker Lizio Grech was sent off for a second yellow card with Ta’ Xbiex increasing their lead in the 84th minute through Liam Vidal in a swift counter-attack.
A minute later Xghajra were given a penalty for a foul by Matthew Agius on Anton Muscat but France Mizzi’s shot from the spot was saved by Mula.

Sirens-Kirkop 4-0
The end result is a bit harsh on Kirkop United who shared the exchanges for long stretches but Sirens took the chances they created to come out worthy winners.
The first half scoreline was somewhat harsh for Kirkop United who went shared the exchanges and created various opportunities.
Sirens broke the deadlock after a few seconds through Mark Camilleri but Kirkop were close to an equaliser through Chris Farrugia and Stefan Busuttil whose attempts were saved by Glen Buttigieg.
Sirens increased their lead on 23 minutes through a penalty given for a handling infringement and converted by Etienne Bonnici.
Kirkop wasted an easy opportunity through Chris Farrugia with Sirens further extending their lead in the 44th minute through Mark Camilleri.
After the resumption Sirens maintained the initiative with Adrian Galea making it 4-0 in the 54th minute from the penalty spot, a penalty given for a foul by Brian Falzon on Patrick Barbara.
Sirens were then again close through Justin Mercieca, Ryan Theuma and Patrick Barbara.

Zurrieq-Fgura 1-0
A second half goal scored by substitute Godfrey Chetcuti earned Zurrieq a very important win in a direct promotion clash against Fgura United.
Early on in the match Zurrieq created two clear opportunities through Matthew Genuis and the same player was on target in the 16th minute but his shot was well saved by Ranier Farrugia.
Then the Fgura keeper did well to save an effort by Robert Bajada
Fgura came back through two dangerous free-kicks by Jason Mifsud and Eric Lia and in the 44th minute a header by Josef Borg was saved with difficulty by Azzopardi. Early on in the second-half Clint Ellul pounced on an error by Zurrieq’s defender Jeffrey Camilleri but his shot was blocked by Azzopardi.
At the other end Zurrieq were unlucky as a free-kick by Matthew Genuis hit the crossbar and on the hour another free-kick taken by Joe Farrugia finished inches wide of the far post.
Then Zurrieq tested Farrugia off a Robert Bajada effort but they managed to break the deadlock in the 73rd minute through substitute Godfrey Chetcuti following a good move by Daniel Zammit.
Late in the match Fgura were close through Vince Testaferrata.
