MEP Simon Busuttil will be a keynote speaker at a conference on the challenge of illegal immigration to be held in Granada, Spain, next week.
The conference, organised by the EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament will include a line-up of key players from Spain, Germany and from the EU’s external borders agency, Frontex. Dr Busuttil will address the conference on The challenge of illegal immigration: A Southern Perspective.
Commenting on the conference, Dr Busuttil said: “In Granada, I will be restating Malta’s message. On immigration, the EU is finally moving. But I want it to move faster, much faster.”
Other speakers at the conference will include Joseph Daul, President of the EPP-ED group, Javier Arenas, leader of the Partido Popular in Andalusia, José Torres Hurtado, mayor of Grenada, Gunter Beckstein, Bavaran Member of Home Affairs and Gil Arias Fernandez, deputy executive directive of Frontex.
