Woman Admits shoplifting

A woman pleaded guilty yesterday to shoplifting from a number of establishments in September last year.

Elaine Muscat, 25, from Valletta, pleaded guilty to stealing several items from the Eurosport outlet in Psaila Street, Birkirkara, and other shops in Iklin, Paceville and Sliema, and handling stolen goods. However, she pleaded not guilty to committing these offences during the operative term of a suspended jail term.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi presided over the case while Police Inspectors Ramon Mercieca and Victor Aquilina prosecuted. Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
