Ryan Connor of the Ulster team maintained the overall leadership of the Tour of Malta yesterday after the second stage of the event at the San Martin circuit.
P. Vaughan, also of the Ulster team, won the race in a time of 2 hours 38.17 minutes. Malta's Etienne Bonello, of The Greens Cycling Club, was third in 2:43.44.
Bonello also remains the first placed among the Maltese riders taking part.
The women's category race had a dramatic finish yesterday as three riders were involved in a sprint finish, all finishing with the same time.
Victory went to Anne De Wildt of Dutch team Noord, with Nadine Krpal of Charlottenburg and Antonia Burt of The British Cycling Central Division second and third respectively.
Maltese girls Danica Spiteri and Stephania Magri , both of The Greens Cycling Club, finished together with the same time among a group of riders.
De Wildt remains overall leader while Danica Spiteri is leading Magri in the overall standings.
The Tour continues this morning with the 85 km race at Ta' Pennellu, limits of Mellieha.
