Razzett tal-Hbiberija together with Lupus Support Group Malta are organising two seminars themed Healing through Music, which will be hosted by Dr Audun Myskja from Norway within the Multipurpose Hall of Razzett tal-Hbiberija in Marsascala. The first seminar will be held for the general public on Friday 20 April between 6 and 9pm, while the second seminar will be held for medical professionals on Sunday 22 April between 3 and 6pm.

During the first seminar for the general public, Dr Myskja will present ideologies on various aspects including how music can affect pain, depression and other symptoms and how one can use song and music in everyday life for health purposes. During the seminar for medical professionals, Dr Myskja will present ideologies on music and healing through the ages and new research on the effects of sound and music, among others.

Audun Myskja MD is a certified specialist in general practice and family medicine, educated in Neurological Music Therapy. He has led or supervised 10 projects using music as a

therapeutic tool, and is presently in a PhD project on integrating music therapy methods in the care of nursing home residents. Dr Myskja has been awarded the Quality Prize of the Norwegian Medical Association for his work, has written 10 books and over a 100 articles on health care, and lectures internationally.

The fee is a donation of Lm2 for each seminar, which will be contributed towards the disability programmes that are offered free of charge to over 1,000 children and adults with a disability and which cost Razzett tal-Hbiberija Lm400,000 a year.
