After playing to four sell-out houses at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta in 2005, the UK’s leading musical theatre concert, Beyond the Barricade is set to return on 27-29 April.

And what a time for them to return, as London’s West End currently boasts more than 20 musicals on stage and Beyond the Barricade takes audiences on a whirlwind tour of the best of them.

The cast of Andy Reiss (musical director of Masquerade’s recent smash hit, The Rocky Horror Show), David Fawcett, Katie Leeming and Claire Marlowe, complete with their live band, recreate the songs, music and sound of the world’s most popular musicals.

Andy Reiss is no stranger to Maltese audiences, having been musical director for Masquerade on two occasions as well as taking many theatre workshops for the aspiring talent on the island. Andy was with Les Miserables for more than five years, both as performer in Manchester, Dublin, Edinburgh and the West End and as resident director of the UK tour.

Beyond the Barricade is being brought to Malta by Masquerade Theatre Company and supported by Malta Tourism Authority, Bank of Valletta, Air Malta, Portomaso, and Travelex Financial Services.
