With reference to Miriam Cassar’s letter entitled Abandoned infant and adoption, (TMID, 12 April), I feel it is important to note my concern on the over-simplification of children’s issues
It is good to note that government structures do exist to assess and investigate cases and that this is done to ensure that a decision is taken in the best interests of children. Also, the Care Order Act is a part of our legislation to ensure that the decisions taken regarding vulnerable children are taken in their best interests.
I appeal to all to treat cases which involve children, and in particular vulnerable children, in the press with a greater sensitivity.
