The owners of a supermarket in Mosta were ordered to pay a baker Lm4,000 for several deliveries of bread over the past few years.

Baker Silvio Muscat filed a suit against Jesmond and Rita Sant, the owners of Save and Smile supermarket in Mosta. He claimed that he was owed Lm4,136 for bread he had delivered to the said supermarket.

The court, presided over by Magistrate Silvio Meli, heard how Mr Muscat used to deliver bread to the supermarket and was paid every week. However, as time went by, he stopped getting paid and eventually the bread orders decreased until the store closed its doors to business.

Magistrate Meli thus ordered the couple to pay Mr Muscat the sum of Lm4,000.
