A Libyan man was yesterday jailed for five months after pleading guilty to damaging a car in Pembroke on 8 April.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna jailed Abduraouf Beleed, 25, who pleaded guilty to damaging Alfred Peregrin’s car. The court heard how the Libyan damaged the car after he thought it was his and thought he forgot his car keys inside.
Mr Peregrin was not paid the Lm300 he had to fork out to repair the damage because the accused declared that he had no money.
Police Inspector Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted while Dr Martin Fenech appeared for the accused.
