Court: Suspended Jail term for threatening and assaulting police officers

A man was jailed for six months suspended for three years after pleading guilty to threatening and assaulting a number of police officers at the Pietà police station on Tuesday.

Before Magistrate Doreen Clarke, Anthony Mallia, 36, from Zabbar, pleaded guilty to threatening and assaulting the police officers and disobeying police orders at 7am on Tuesday.

Police Inspector Mario Tonna prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
