Two men were yesterday remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to stealing various tools from a car parked in Swieqi on Tuesday.

Carmel-Shone Agius, 34, and Emmanuel Magro, 55, both from Gzira, were charged with stealing tools from a car parked in Triq il-Kwarta, to the detriment of J and C Constructions Ltd. They were also charged with relapsing.

Before Magistrate Michael Mallia, the two men pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them. They were refused bail and remanded in custody.

Police Inspectors Carmelo Abdilla and Martin Sammut prosecuted. Dr Beppe Fenech Adami appeared for Mr Magro while Dr Philip Galea Farrugia and Dr Joseph Mifsud appeared for Mr Agius.
