Traffic Route changes

The Malta Transport Authority said that due to infrastructural works being carried out by Enemalta Corporation in conjunction with the Mater Dei Hospital, along the inner lane of the carriageway of Regional Road in the direction of St Julian’s (beyond Santa Venera tunnels), public transport and vehicular traffic going in the direction of St Julian’s will from today be diverted to the outer lane of Regional Road on exiting the Santa Venera tunnels.

In conjunction with these works, the slip road leading from Regional Road to Psaila Street (near Phoenix Roundabout) will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9.30am and 4pm. Between noon and 2pm, Regional Road in the direction from Marsa to St Julian’s (near Santa Venera tunnels) will be completely closed to vehicular traffic. To this end, vehicular traffic coming from Marsa will be diverted to Mriehel Bypass. Traffic coming from Mriehel Bypass will be diverted towards Marsa.

On Monday, the slip road from Regional Road leading down to Valley Road will be closed to vehicular traffic for works in the road. This slip road will remain closed till the end of the project. Motorists were urged to seek alternative routes and to proceed with caution.
