Labour Party leader Alfred Sant yesterday said that the success story of the Toly Products company was the perfect example that the manufacturing industry had a bright future in Malta.

Visiting the factory at the Bulebel industrial estate as part of MLP activities marking Worker’s Day, Dr Sant said the company, which started operating in Malta in the 1970s, had made great strides forward.

He praised the company’s efforts to adapt to the changing circumstances, describing it as an example of diversity and vitality.

The manufacturing sector had a bright future if the authorities supported the sector. Malta had workers, managers and entrepreneurs who showed commitment, dedication and skill, he said.

Toly Products was set up in the 1960s and has been operating in Malta since 1971. It was the first factory that opened at Bulebel, and today employs 400 people. It produces beauty products for companies such as Chanel, Estee Lauder, Avon, Boots, Guerlain, Coty and Sephora.
