AFM Soldiers complain about promotion exercise

Malta Independent Saturday, 21 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

Three Armed Forces of Malta soldiers yesterday filed a judicial protest in court complaining that they were not given a promotion when they were qualified and experienced for it.

Anthony Muscat, Patrick Tanti and Joseph Lia filed their judicial protest against the Prime Minister and the AFM Commander.

The men, two of whom are gunners while the latter is a bombardier, complained that a number of AFM soldiers were recently given a promotion but they were not. They claimed that soldiers who are as old as them and who are less qualified were still given a promotion but they, for some reason, were not given this promotion.

They said they were holding the Prime Minister and the AFM Commander responsible for the damage caused and warned that they will take further action if they are not given this promotion.

Dr Jose Herrera and Dr David Camilleri signed the writ.
