HMS Echo will pay a visit to Malta from Monday to 2 May. She was launched on 2 March 2002.

The name HMS Echo has a long and distinguished career, with battle honours ranging from Quebec in 1759, to the Malta Convoys in 1942, where she joined the carrier USS Wasp on a flying-off operation.

HMS Echo, under Commander J.E. Churcher, is the first of two multi-role survey vessels (hydrographic/oceanographic (SVHOs)). The ship is 90.6m long with a displacement of 3,470 tonnes and is capable of 15 knots.

HMS Echo will be berthed at Cospicua Wharf. Due to essential maintenance works being carried out, she will not be open to the public during her stay.
