The popular choir VOICES has joined forces with Rotary Club La Valette Malta and De La Salle College to stage what will be a most enjoyable concert on the evening of Saturday 28 April at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the concert are free of charge, however a donation of Lm2 for adults and Lm1 for children would be appreciated. Proceeds from this concert will be in aid of Rotary Club La Valette Malta’s projects in the Cottonera area.
These include the creation of a recreational park within the Santa Margherita Lines and a literacy project which the club is carrying out in collaboration with Cottonera College and with the generous help of Playmobil and other sponsors.
Rotary Club La Valette Malta is making its presence felt among the people of Cottonera. This partnership was most evident last November when, during the feast of San Martin, club members prepared bags full of nuts and sweets as well as Playmobil toys and distributed these to the primary school children from Cottonera College who came for a walk along the historic Santa Margherita Lines. Following its success, it is planned that this event will be held annually in November to celebrate the feast of San Martin.
As part of its commitment to literacy, the club has helped to stock up some school libraries in the locality. It has also launched a programme among the Cottonera College primary schools, thanks to the collaboration of Ms Salvina Muscat, whereby children can make didactic use of Playmobil toy kits and learn to express themselves and improve their literacy skills.
Some tickets for the VOICES concert have been distributed to school children from Cottonera College. The general public is kindly asked to support the event.
