The Malta Transport Authority has notified that, as from last Thursday, due to infrastructural work being carried out by Enemalta Corporation in conjunction with the Mater Dei Hospital along the inner lane of the carriageway of Regional Road in the direction of St Julian’s (beyond Sta Venera tunnels), public transport and vehicular traffic in the direction of St Julian’s has been diverted to the outer lane of Regional Road upon exit from Sta Venera Tunnels.

In conjunction with this work, the slip road leading from Regional Road to Psaila Street (near Phoenix Roundabout) will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9.30am and 4pm.

Also, between 12 noon and 2pm, Regional Road in the direction from Marsa to St. Julian’s (near Sta Venera Tunnels) will be completely closed to vehicular traffic.

As a result, vehicular traffic coming from Marsa will be diverted towards the Mriehel By-pass. Traffic coming from the Mriehel By-pass will be diverted towards Marsa.

Tomorrow, the slip road from Regional Road leading down to Valley Road will be closed to vehicular traffic for work on the said road. This slip road will remain closed until the end of the project.
