Robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after holding up a petrol station owner in Zurrieq yesterday afternoon.

The police said the robbery took place at 12.45pm in St Bartholomew Street.

The petrol station owner was driving along the road when he was stopped by an armed and hooded man. The owner was ordered to hand over a bag he was carrying, which he did. The man and two accomplices then fled the scene.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti appointed several experts to help him draw up a report.

Police investigations are still under way.
