The government is issuing a call for proposals from low-cost carriers to operate new and under-served routes to Malta.

The call, which will be appearing on-line tomorrow on the website of the Department of Information, www.doi.

gov.mt opens up the possibility for low-cost airlines to operate to Malta from Bari, Italy; Bremen, Germany; any airport in the Iberian peninsula (Spain and Portugal); and any airport in Scandinavia.

The call for proposals will also be published in Friday’s Malta Government Gazette and will be advertised in international magazines and websites. The call is open until Friday, 25 May.
