The music station MTV and the Malta Song Board have entered into an agreement under which 168 30-second spots promoting Malta will be played from yesterday until the Eurovision song contest on 12 May.

The spots also promote Olivia Lewis’ song Vertigo, which Ms Lewis will be singing at the Eurovision semi finals.

Tourism Minister Francis Zammit Dimech, who announced the agreement yesterday, said MTV Europe had a following of about 7.7 million televiewers. The spots are being financed by the Malta Tourism Authority and include a message from Ms Lewis.
