AIESEC Promoting entrepreneurship

Malta Independent Friday, 27 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

AIESEC, the global student organisation that operates in over 100 countries and territories, including Malta, has set up a new initiative with the Competitiveness and Communications Ministry, launched together with University of Malta rector Juanito Camilleri.

Together they are establishing the AIESEC office as a contact point between the ministry and students who would like to look into the possibilities available for opening up a business and are seeking assistance in this area.

AIESEC said the long-term benefits of such a project were many. One was that AIESEC, together with the ministry, would be building a culture of awareness around central topics for students who want to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and not simply follow the crowd.

AIESEC will be hosting information sessions called “learning circles” that will be organised by students for students. The ministry will be providing information during these events regarding various industries, as well as the state of small and medium enterprises in Malta.
