Heritage Malta’s Reaction to UHM statement

Malta Independent Monday, 30 April 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Heritage Malta strongly denied a claim made by the Union Haddiema Maghqudin last Friday that a meeting which was meant to discuss the collective agreement was called off at the eleventh hour.

In a statement, Heritage Malta said that its officials were already preparing for the meeting which was meant to be held on Friday afternoon together with representatives from other entities. At no point did any Heritage Malta official call off the meeting.

Heritage Malta has always considered the collective agreement to be of utmost importance, so much so, that it did it utmost to try to conclude a new agreement before the end of last year when the first collective agreement brokered by the agency expired in December 2006.

Claims made by the union that the collective agreement is not being given priority are unfounded and UHM is well aware that Heritage Malta is not at fault on this matter.
