May I thank Louiselle Vassallo, media manager of Media.Link Communications Ltd (TMID, 28 April) who replied to my earlier letter (TMID, 21 April) on the NET TV programme Doksa.
If I understood her correctly, however, I do not believe that the station intends to bring back Doksa on air. Let me explain. Ms Vassallo said that “our plans are to produce, once again, more high quality discussion programmes, similar (the italics are mine) to Doksa…”
Does “similar” mean that there will be other programmes like Doksa but not Doksa itself?
If this is so, it would be a real pity. I believe that Doksa was the right programme for people who want to get all the angles and, perhaps more importantly, for people who think.
There are too many other TV shows where the intelligence of the viewers is not respected. We do not want more of those.
