“The government published a set of rules and regulations… that are aimed at regulating construction sites in terms of their effect on the environment” ran a front page story in your newspaper (TMID, 28 April).

We are a people who love to have rules, and believe that by having rules we are perfect. We enjoy having regulations, as these after all are there to make our lives better.

But do we follow these regulations? I am not only talking about construction sites, but about all other areas of our way of life.

This is why I laughed out loud when I started reading the story. Yes, we have another set of rules, this time concerning construction and environment. If they are followed just as much as our traffic regulations, our public cleansing rules and the hunting laws… I leave the continuation of this sentence in the hands of your readers.
