A 24-year-old man was charged yesterday with possessing and trafficking about 80 ecstasy pills at Rabat.

Edward Cardona from Bugibba was charged with trafficking the drugs on 25 May 2003 and during the previous two months, and on the night between of 30 April 2004.

He was also charged with committing the offence in the vicinity of a meeting place for young people. The drugs were found in a state that denoted they were not for his personal use.

Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
