A 24-year-old man was charged yesterday with stealing a car from St Paul’s Bay more than two years ago.
Appearing before magistrate Audrey Demicoli, Andy Gialanze Whiteford from Hamrun pleaded not guilty to stealing and damaging a Ford Escort to the detriment of Francis Sant.
He further denied stealing hi-fi equipment and other items from Brooklyn, a shop in Mosta Road, St Paul’s Bay, and receiving stolen items that he intended to sell.
Mr Whiteford was also charged with driving the stolen car without a driving licence and with relapsing.
Police inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted. Dr Jose Herrera and Dr Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
