A 23-year-old man was jailed for 13 months yesterday after he admitted robbing a man on the night of 28 April.

Jonathan Joseph Briffa from Ta’ Xbiex pleaded guilty to stealing cash and a mobile phone to the detriment of David Borg from Swieqi.

He was also found guilty of being in possession of a can of pepper spray without a licence and was further found guilty of relapsing.

Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani presided over the court. Police inspectors Malcolm Spiteri and Carmelo Abdilla prosecuted and Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for Briffa.
