On Saturday 21 April, the BritishJET Flight FHE301 bound for London Gatwick that took off from Malta at 8:15am, was flown by the first Maltese pilot in the airline.

First Officer Anatole Vella Gera, a former flight instructor with over 1,200 flying hours of flight instruction given to both local and foreign students, has now started flying for Malta's low cost carrier, the first Maltese pilot to fly the 167-seater Boeing MD-90 to and from the Maltese Islands.

Contracted by the Swiss company Hello, Mr Vella Gera will be based in Malta for the years to come to fulfil the needs of the Maltese run operation

On his first flight Anatole was greeted by his fellow colleagues namely Captain Andrea Burkhardt, pursers Daniel Micallef and Clifford R. Scorey and cabin crew Josette Abela and Kurt Vella Fonde.
