Mosta and Senglea obtained a draw in their encounter yesterday.

The best of the match came in the second half, where both teams gave their best to obtain the three points at stake. The result was a fair one with both teams having their good moments.

The two sides had some regular players missing, with Mosta having to do without the services of Ewurun and Sciberras, whilst Senglea had Thomas and Grech missing. The match was played at a very slow pace, with both sides using this match as a preparation for their forthcoming semi-final clash in the knock out competition in two weeks' time.

Scoring chances were very scarce in the first 45 minutes wit practically no shot at goal in the first half hour. Mosta made their first feeble attempt on 36 minutes with Theuma's shot blocked in time by a Senglea defender.

Senglea's danger man Chima Dozie made his presence felt five minutes before the break when he tested Carbonaro with a grounder. A minute from Senglea's Clint Caruana had a good run from his own half but his final shot went slightly wide.

The second half started with Daniel Theuma missing a glorious chance in front of goal. Mosta piled up the pressure in the early minutes with Lydon Cili's first timer going over the bar.

On 56 minutes, almost against the run of play, Senglea forged ahead when Clint Caruana did all the work on the right flank and passed to Chima Dozie who beat Carbonaro from close range.

After this goal Senglea played better with Dozie and Silvio Sciras missing some chances to close the contest.

However on 67 minutes Mosta obtained the equaliser when from a Cilia cross, Daniel Theuma anticipated a rather hesitant Attard in the Senglea goal, to head home.

The match came bubbling to life now with both sides in search of the winner. Both teams had their good chances of going in front but they missed some easy chances especially Mosta's Mark Brincat who missed a sitter in the dying seconds of the match.
