Collective Agreement talks

Malta Independent Tuesday, 8 May 2007, 00:00 Last update: about 20 years ago

The UHM’s Government Workers’ Section said the latest talks on a collective agreement for non-academic staff at MCAST had been held on Thursday but the representative of the Collective Bargain-ing Unit had chosen not to speak and the union suspended the meeting, as it was turning out to be a waste of time.

Some time later, the UHM said, it got to know that someone had been offered a definite contract of work with inferior conditions. This, it said, was when it issued its first statement. In other words, it added, definite contracts of work had nothing to do with the meeting for talks about the collective agreement.
