The National Orchestra and the Manoel Theatre management are presenting the opera Il-Weghda by Charles Camilleri to mark Camilleri’s 75th birthday last September.

The opera, with a libretto by Joe Friggieri, who produces, is the first opera in Maltese and was first performed at San Anton gardens in 1984. The Jubilate Deo Choir will be taking part, directed by Christopher Muscat.

The National Orchestra will be directed by Joseph Debrincat, and Marcelline Agius will be leader.
