As part of the Malta Mediterranean Folk Festival to be held in Malta on 6, 9 and 10 June, the organising committee of the festival, under the auspices of the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and in collaboration with the Koperattiva Kulturali Universitarja, is organising two sessions of Sicilian folk-dance workshops on Friday, 8 June from 5 to 7.30, and on Saturday, 9 June from 10am to 12.30pm at the Mediterranean Institute Theatrical Programme (MITP), St Christopher Street, Valletta.
Open to the general public, including leaders of folk-
dancing groups, admission the two workshops are free of charge. Those wishing to participate are asked to signify their intention in writing to Noel Sammut, Secretary, Malta Mediterranean Folk Festival, Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, Casa Caspe, 230 Triq ir-Repubblika Valletta, not later than 11 May, (email: noelsammut@ maltaculture.com)
The number of places is limited and the organising committee reserves the right to refuse any application.
The workshops will be run by professional folk music teachers and dancers from Messina.
